Terry Porter
Terry Porter really knows how to steal the show when it comes to pole vaulting. After transferring to Kansas as a junior from a Texas junior college, he boosted his career off fast. In his opening season, Porter won the 1973 NCAA Indoor Championship after clearing 17 feet. He followed that win with a strong finish in the NCAA Outdoor Championship when he finished third. During his senior season he was thought of as one of the best pole vaulters in the country. He affirmed those beliefs by qualifying for the 1976 Olympics where he finished in 13th place.
