Scott Huffman
Nobody better embodies the word perseverance than Scott Huffman. After completing his stay at Quinter (Kansas) High School, Huffman decided to walk-on the track team at Kansas. Huffman built himself into one of the better pole valuters in the Big Eight and won the Big Eight Outdoor Championships in 1986. He continued to get better winning the Big Eight Indoor Championships as a senior and finishing second in the NCAA Indoor the same year. His career didn't stop at KU. After several unsuccessful attempts at making the Olympic squad Huffman finally reached his goal of representing his country in 1996 when he competed in the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia.
