Michael Ricks
Micheal Ricks set the standard for sprinters in the early 1980's at Kansas. After transferring from Hutchinson Junior College, he quickly started winning meets. During the 1980 season he won both the Big Eight Conference and NCAA Indoor Championship in the 600-meter race. His time in the conference meet was the fastest clocked time on a 220-yard flat track in the world. During the 1980 Outdoor Championships he led the Jayhawks' 1,600-meter relay team to a second place finish. His versatility was constantly being shown as he had strong finishes in the 300-meter, 400- and 440-yard dashes during his days with the crimson and blue.
