Mark Lutz
You can't mention Kansas track history without the name Mark Lutz. Lutz's accomplishments were nearly endless and led by his part in the 1974 NCAA Championship winning 440-yard relay team. He was a contributor nearly from the start, placing second in the 200-yard dash at the NCAA Outdoor meet and was on KU's fourth place 440-relay team as a sophomore. He dominated the Big Eight as a junior and senior winning both the 100 and 22-yard dashes. His 200-meter time in 1976 ranked him the third fastest man in the world. After his days at Kansas were complete, he went on to make the 1976 Olympic team in the 200-meter competition.
