Camille Spitaleri
Camille Spitaleri is Kansas' only three-time All-American and was one of college softball's outstanding players during her career with the Jayhawks. The third baseman helped Kansas to its first-ever NCAA College World Series in 1992 and was inducted to the KU Hall of Fame shortly thereafter. An All-American and all-region selection from 1990-92, Spitaleri still holds the KU career record for RBI (114) and slugging percentage (.501). A two-time All-Big Eight pick, Spitaleri finished her career in the top five of nearly every KU career offensive category. She still ranks second all-time in total bases (334) and career hits (225) and third all-time in runs (120) at KU. Spitaleri was a member of the 1991 United States gold medal winning Pan American Games team who went 14-1. The Sunnyvale, Calif., native was one of 18 players selected from a field of 55 to compete in the Summer games in Cuba.
