Sheila Connolly
Sheila Connolly (1983, 85-87) was a two-time All-American, Academic All-American and member of the KU Athletics Hall of Fame. The outfielder and shortstop was an NCAA First Team All-American concluding her senior season at Kansas in 1987. She was first-team all-region in 1986 and 1987 after leading her team in just about every offensive category including hits, batting average and stolen bases. Her .391 batting average in 1987 still ranks second on the single-season hitting charts at Kansas. The Ft. Sheridan, Ill., native ranks sixth all-time at KU with 44 career stolen bases and seventh all-time with 107 career runs. Connolly, a two-time All-Big Eight pick, excelled in the classroom as well, earning Academic All-America honors in 1987.
