John Lawson
John Lawson can look back at the 1965 cross country season and know he was the best runner in college. Lawson claimed the 1965 Cross Country Championship which was held in Lawrence. He built on his success during the cross country season to claim second place finishes in both the 1966 NCAA Indoor Championship in the two-mile and in the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the three-mile race. He also dominated the conference scene winning the 1966 Big East Conference Championship in both the mile and two-mile races. Lawson will forever remeber the 1965-1966 season as the year that he took his abilities to the next level.
