Matthew Gundelfinger
Matt Gundelfinger played three seasons at the University of Kansas from 1978-80. Gundelfinger walked on during the fall of 1977 after graduating from Shawnee Mission North High in Overland Park, Kan. Gundelfinger's 27 career home runs set a new KU career record. Gundelfinger hit .409 with 16 home runs and 50 RBI during his junior season in 1980. His 50 RBI set a new KU single-season record. Gundelfinger decided to forgo his senior season at KU after he was drafted in the fourth round by the California Angels in 1980.
